Irish Soda Bread with Treacle

Ingredients

  • 600g Wholemeal Flour
  • 200g Self Raising Flour
  • 2 tbsp Bicarbonate Soda
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 litre Buttermilk
  • 4 tbsp Black Treacle

Method

  1. Turn oven onto 250 degrees celsius
  2. Grease the inside of the bread tin
  3. Flour the inside of the bread tin
  4. Add all dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl (no sieving required) and mix
  5. Add the treacle to a microwaveable container and microwave for 20 seconds
