Fresh macOS Install Sierra

Prepare

  1. Copy all photos to a USB
  2. Screenshot brew, brew cask, and 2 x applications lists
  3. Ensure any changes in ~/Projects are checked in or not need
  4. Check through downloads
  5. Create USB installer from https://macpaw.com/how-to/clean-install-macos-sierra

Install

Reboot, erase hard drive, install

Configure

  1. Trackpad preferences
  2. Install homebrew (downloads command line tools for Xcode)
  3. Dock preferences
  4. Install Dropbox via homebrew, start syncing
  5. Install all other brew, cask and App Store apps
  6. Configure git to use SSH with GitHub
  7. Clone and install bing-wallpaper
  8. Update finder preferences
  9. Install Box Sync and upload photos
  10. Install ruby using rbenv and ruby-build
  11. Install bower globally npm install -g bower
  12. Configure heroku: heroku login and add SSH keys using heroku keys:add
  13. Add AdBlock extension to Safari
